Color Guard Instructor Needed

Elizabethtown High School is an independent school district located in the heart of Elizabethtown, Kentucky. The marching band is currently non-competitve, and there are vibrant winter competition units for percussionists and color guard students. The total enrollment of the school is around 750. The school has a supportive administration and several large rehearsal spaces available on-site for winter guard rehearsals.

 

We are seeking applicants for a Color Guard Director to fulfill the following responsibilities:

 

- Coordinate, recruit, and audition for all aspects of the color guard program.

- Coordinate the writing of flag, weapon, and drill for marching band performances

- Teach basic and advanced techniques in flag, weapons, and body movement

- Work within a budget

- Maintain and strengthen our existing winter program

 

The successful applicant will be:

-A team player

-reliable and punctual

-Provide a positive example and influnce for all students

-able to pass a KSP/FBI background check and drug screen

-Have reliable transportation

-Be at least 21 years of age.

 

Applicants will be expected to be at all rehearsals and to run sectionals as appropriate. Extra-service pay is negotiable and comensurate with experience. Open/World class WGI/DCI experience a plus.
