Even if I walked away from Murray right now and never taught another day there in my life, it would always be 'we' to me and it will always be 'my' band, and I'm not the least bit ashamed to say so.

People go through this faux maturity thing where they have to separate themselves from their high school experiences in order to prove how adult they've gotten. Later, when you actually are an adult, you've go nothing to prove and can say wholeheartedly that those experiences were extremely important to you.

Amen to Jason! I refer to Muhlenberg South as my band and say 'we' pretty much anytime I refer to them. However, the situation is different with M. South seeing as how I was part of the last graduating class but I think I would still say we if M. South still was open. I refer to Muhlenberg County as 'we' sometimes because I am part of the pit crew but feel weird saying it.

That's not my point, though, Jason. I do the same thing, and I take pride in my alma mater's accomplishments. What I'm saying is that there's a difference between being a proud alum and speaking for the band even though you're not officially a member of it in any way.

I use "we" bc i still live in Harrison County, I go to their practice, DON'T miss a single competition, and I am probably the biggest supporter they have. So yes, WE is used there. Bc I am still part of the band whether I am in it or not. So yes, WE are going to have a great season. And the director, dude, I'm not supporting him. I am supporting the kids bc they are doing things that he won't do. =) Make sure you get all the facts right before you say that. No, convo done, argument over.

2009 was exciting, but 2010 will be a greater season. A few more upsets, a few new faces, its going to be interesting.

You are extremely arrogant and I find it annoying.

Keep in mind that this whole KMN forum is a bunch of band fanatics. We as a group are all music lovers and are dedicated to our own group. So, We all know what your saying about the whole I am the biggest supporter junk.

But let me tell you. You aren't their biggest supporter. I can guarentee that. Just because you may not miss a practice or a show that they attend, thatdoesn't put you above the parents who arelikely in pit crew or the booster organization. You are crazy to think that you are more important then they are. Istill live in Muhlenberg County and I am in pit crew, yet I am not the most important dude around....

I dislike your arrogance.

Dislike it, idc. Btw, I record their performance for them, and I am a starter in the boosters this year. Any other questions? I'm not arrogant, I'm confident. There's a fine line. So yea, dislike me if you want. Your not the only on this site and i guarantee you wont be the last Dustin. Doesn't hurt me one bit and it def doesn't keep me up at night. Like I said, this argument is over. If you'd like to continue your pointless vendetta in putting me down, private message me. But just so you know, I'm not down. I'm still my chipper self.

You see there is a time and a place for you to say "we" in reference to your band... as in when your talking about years that you were in that band. Saying we are going to have a great year when you graduated 2 years ago... well.. that doesn't work unless you are a part of the band somehow.

Point of interest -- Even though I graduated last year, I will always use "we". I see it this way; if you did your part in the band, you're always a part of the band. I taught a lot of those kids how to march. I helped make a lot of them better. So every time Grant County takes the field, that is my band, I'm a part of it. If they make it to state finals, I will stand in the audience and say "We did it!".
Just because my band career is over, doesn't mean I don't associate myself with the program that I put so much time, effort, blood, sweat and tears into.
Just my opinion :)
