Star-studded. It's going to be an uphill battle for any band to make it into finals...

Lafayette is back in action. Fun fact- last year was the first time they had ever NOT made finals at any show, for they got 14th at Grand Nationals. This year, I anticipate a little more from them.

14th is still pretty effin sweet though.

Here's how I see it:

Locks:
Avon H.S.
Broken Arrow H.S.
Carmel H.S.
Cedar Park H.S
Kennesaw Mountain H.S.
L.D. Bell H.S.
Lawrence Central H.S.
Marian Catholic H.S.
Stephen F. Austin H.S.
Tarpon Springs H.S.

That leaves 2 more spots in the bloodbath for the below bubble bands:

Ayala H.S.
Center Grove H.S.
Centerville H.S.
Lafayette H.S., KY
Lafayette H.S., LA
Plymouth-Canton Educational Park H.S.

My opinion, which doesn't mean much, the locks will be in alphabetical order:

Avon, IN
Ben Davis, IN
Broken Arrow, OK
Carmel, IN
Cedar Park, TX
Kennesaw Mountain, GA
L.D. Bell, TX
Marian Catholic, IL
Tarpon Springs, FL
Winston Churchill, TX

There are a multitude of bands who could make finals. There are some changes going on that could effect who makes it and who does how well. I'd like to see some new faces in finals as well.

The bands batteling for the last three spots will be in no order:

Ayala, CA
Center Grove, IN
Centerville, OH
Plymouth Canton, MI
Lafayette, KY (I don't think schools of the same names have ever made finals. That would be kind of cool).
Lafayette, LA
Lawrence Central, IN
Stephen Austin, TX
William Mason, OH
Union, OK
West Bloomfield, MI
Walled Lake Central, MI

I wouldn't be so sure about Winston Churchill. Since their director, Albert Lo, left the program has started to slip. They were 2nd to last in finals at the 2 regionals they attended last year. At San Antonio they were almost 10 points behind James Bowie, the soon-to-be 10th place GN finalist.

Expect Hart County to be added to this list, unless the tradition of going has changed...

My locks...

Avon H.S. Avon, IN
Broken Arrow H.S. Broken Arrow, OK
Carmel H.S. Carmel, IN
Cedar Park H.S. Cedar Park, TX
L.D. Bell H.S. Hurst, TX
Lawrence Central H.S. Indianapolis, IN
Marian Catholic H.S. Chicago Heights, IL
Stephen F. Austin H.S. Sugar Land, TX

Fighting for the final four spots...

Ben Davis H.S. Indianapolis, IN
Center Grove H.S. Greenwood, IN
Centerville H.S. Centerville, OH
Kennesaw Mountain H.S. Kennesaw, GA
Lafayette H.S. Lexington, KY
Lafayette H.S. Lafayette, LA
Plymouth-Canton Educational Park Canton, MI
Tarpon Springs H.S. Tarpon Springs, FL
Winston Churchill H.S. San Antonio, TX

I'm not convinced that Ben Davis or Tarpon Springs will be back in finals, since they both had some trouble last year. However, if Wando, Marcus, The Woodlands, and James Bowie High Schools remain unregistered for grand nats, then there will be four spots open from last year's finals. Go Lafayette!

I hope a Kentucky band makes finals... and the best bet would be Lafayette. I really really hope that they make it. How long has it been since a KY band made finals?

I didnt care much for it. The drill was crazy, but it was designed kinda bad and haphazard, and was much to difficult so it was preformed very sloppy. But musically, I did rather enjoy it, so yes and no. Primarily, no.

Are you serious? What a bummer... I loved LC's visual approach to their shows. Especially Ecosphere.
